What Just Happened?

HOLY COW. The past few weeks have been CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously. Wow.
  • I started school, and I will be done with school in about 3 weeks and be certified in the state of Utah as a Nurse Assistant.
  • Amanda got married.
  • Jodi and the kiddos came to visit.
  • I got another job.

After Amanda's wedding and my first week of school I thought life would slow down and I would be able to catch my breath. Then I had a very intense-long-process interview the next week, while working and going to school. Then Jodi and the kiddos came to visit (HAPPY TIMES). So after this past weekend I thought life would settle down and I would be able to catch my breath. Nope. I got a call today that I got the job I interviewed for. I will soon be working at the Utah Valley Regional Hospital (Provo) as a Psych Tech in the Emergency Room.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining one bit. I'm stoked. It's just all happening so fast. I can't even catch up with my thoughts. I start work the same week as I finish school. That's intense. I start a intense job and I take a state skills and written test all in the same week. Same day actually. Heaven help me. If I don't have a nervous breakdown in the next few weeks I will be surprised! I really am happy though. I asked for it. When Jodi moved and I decided I wasn't going to be returning to UVU this fall, I said, and I quote, "I just want to get really busy and work my butt off so time will pass by fast." Well, be careful what you wish for.

Being busy is good right now though. I'm having a weird time in my life. I miss Jodi and her cute little kids (I call them my homies) more than anything lately, I'm losing touch with some friends but gaining new ones, etc, etc. There is just a lot of change going on. That's life right? The only thing you can expect in life is the unexpected, right? Right. I am happy. I like to be busy. I just wish I could sort out my thoughts. I feel like I just go and go from one thing to another and I don't have quite enough time to wrap my brain around ANYTHING!! But I will NOT use the excuse "I'm too busy". I despise that excuse. I really hate it. I believe I am never too busy for the important things. Such as-my mom's birthday. In the midst of my crazy day today (getting immunization records, scheduling drug tests and back ground checks, work, school, etc.) I still went out to lunch with my mom for her birthday. And I used my mad-streamer-decorating-skills and decorated the kitchen. Happy Birthday Mom!!

I'm a very "according to the plan" kind of girl. I like plans. I like thinking things over. My life is so not going according to plan lately and I sure haven't had time to think things over. I think this is a life lesson. . . someone up there is trying to teach me patience, how to be a little spontaneous, and how to stay sane through very stressful times. I'm learning ;)

Awesome part of this all is that October is just around the corner, WOOT, HOLLA! Halloween time! I love Halloween! I've already started decorating, have you? I'm determined to make my house look particularly awesome this Halloween. Also, I start training for my new job on October 18th (I will still be keeping my current job). Sugarland's new record comes out October 19th. Yeah, I'm stoked. I finish school October 20th. I hope you all are ready for fall! As you can tell, I'm not quite ready. I just need one day to catch my breath and take in all of what is happening! One day to de-stress and sit down and drink a NON diet dr pepper and sort out my thoughts. That sounds like bliss right now. I hope all of you readers are loving and embracing fall and all that comes with it! I sure am trying! :)

Amanda's Wedding!

Amanda's wedding was on Friday, September 18th! We have been preparing for this wedding all summer long! It came so fast. It was a crazy busy day filled with fun!! I had the fabulous opportunity to be a bridesmaid along with Angel, Kim, and Amanda's younger sister, Rachel. Amanda's colors were black, white, and aqua blue. Her flowers were white and orange. Our bridesmaid dresses were beautiful! Amanda's wedding dress was so stunning!
It was such a blast! I thought that we would hardly see Amanda during the day but no, we saw her a lot! Any time she wasn't with the groom, she was with us bridesmaids!! We made a lot of jokes and had a lot of laughs. She got married in the Salt Lake City temple. Then we had a very nice luncheon at the Joseph Smith memorial building. In which the bridesmaids and groomsmen talked, the parents talked, we ate yummy food, and they showed the wedding video that I put together for Amanda and Taylor. There were a lot of people at this wedding. It was a BIG wedding. Taylor has a large family and his dad owns a very popular construction company. Amanda looked beautiful. Absolutely stunning. She did her own hair which turned out perfect. Some of it was up, some was down. It was just perfect. She was so happy. I could tell she was relieved of stress which brought out the goofy yet, elegant Amanda that I know. We had such an awesome day, I was so happy I was able to be a part of it!
The whole day was busy! Us bridesmaids had to run home from Salt Lake and change into our bridesmaids dresses because they prefer you not to wear your bridesmaid dresses at the temple so we hurried and changed and went to set up and take pictures at the reception. The reception was beautiful. It was held at the amphitheater park by the Timp. temple. It was just perfect. The decorations, the weather, the food, etc. everything ran smoothly. The reception was just so beautiful. It really was absolutely perfect in my mind. Very fancy, yet very fun and casual. Us bridesmaids were very busy at the reception between taking chap stick and water to the bride and groom and moving gifts, making sure the food was running well, etc. But it was so fun. After the line, they did cutting the cake, throwing the bouquet, guarder belt, serious dancing, then the fun dancing. It was such a great time. What a fun day!! Lots of laughter. It almost seems surreal that the wedding day is over. It went so great. I can't believe that we are old enough to be getting married. Surreal! Needless to say, I'm still recovering from the wedding haha! Every muscle in my body hurts and I am so tired. It was a crazy busy week but it turned out perfect!!!
Amanda and Taylor are now honeymooning in Cancun, Mexico. I know that I will always be friends with Amanda. She's not one of those girls that gets busy or life changes and your friendship disappears. Nope. Heck, I've known and been friends with Amanda since the sixth grade. I am so excited that I get to see her and Taylor's life begin together. Here's to Taylor and Amanda Clyde, may the happiness continue!
I cannot wait to get the professional photographers pictures back that we took. They are going to be great. But here are the pictures I took off of my camera!!

Being goofballs!

The beautiful Salt Lake City temple!

After Amanda came out of the temple!

Angel and Amanda goofin' off!

Kim and Amanda!

We really liked our flowers.

My hair in the works. Pretty awesome. The night before the wedding I got my hair done after school. So in this picture my hair is half way done and I'm working the scrubs. Right on.

She got him good with the cake. . . atta girl!
Their beautiful cake!!! That Amanda's mom made. Yep, she is a talented woman. She can do pretty much everything. She never made a wedding cake before. She really did do everything for this wedding! She's totally going to be my wedding planner. Awesome cake! It was delicious too!

Amanda and Taylor coming out of the temple!

Bridesmaids with the bride. . . we have fun!

Amanda and Taylor at the temple!

Big fireworks shot up into the sky when Amanda and Taylor were leaving!

We all held sparklers when the couple left.

Her brothers and sisters decorated the bug. The groomsmen decorated the truck which turned out pretty awesome and they left in the truck.

After pictures at the place of the reception and before the reception actually started, Amanda had to take off her heels and change into crocs because her feet were killing her haha! Lots of standing!

Amanda and all the cute little girls at the temple!

Tomorrow is Amanda's big day. . .

Amanda gets married tomorrow. Whoa. We are getting way too old. I can't believe it's already here! It came so fast. Time goes by far too quickly. I am glad that I have a few minutes to write this post. This week has been absolutely crazy. I started school and I work everyday, and getting ready for the wedding, it's just been nuts! So I'm glad that while I am finishing up Amanda and Taylors wedding video, while the video is copying to a disc I can write this post.
I have been friends with Amanda since the 6th grade. I remember playing four square at recess. Those were the days. I also remember raising all sorts of hell with her in junior high. We have been "in trouble" with the police more than I can count on my hands. . . and my feet. Apparently we look like hard core criminals. Sometimes we deserved the police getting on our case ;) Other times, we really didn't. Those were the days. We have done so many fun things together and have had such a blast growing up with each other as friends. Neither of us expected for her to be getting married so soon, but when it happens, it happens. I am honored to be one of Amanda's bridesmaids. Oh the fun we will have tomorrow. It will be a celebration all day long. These are the days. Congrats Amanda and Taylor!!!
I have many, many more great pictures. But these were the only pictures that I could find quickly!

In high school, we were in HOSA (Health Occupational Students of America) club together, and as a team we took 3rd in the state for our competition.

Amanda was in the Miss Pleasant Grove Royalty 2009. . . and I was her bodyguard.

We've been on many, many softball teams together.

We even somehow graduated high school with honors without getting suspended once.

Kinda Facebook Famous!

So. . . you know that video in my previous post that we entered to Sugarland's music video contest on facebook? Well, as embarrassed as I am, it's also pretty cool. . . Sugarland themselves are talking about us on their status. This is what is says "Sugarland- Now this is what we're talkin' about! Watch as Amber, Caecee, and Katie shake what their momma's gave 'em to "Stuck Like Glue". Enjoy!" Yep, that is Sugarland's official facebook status right now. And we have about 100 comments on the video and 441 people "liked" it as of right now. Also, all these people keep sending us messages and friend requests. It's insane. So basically, we're kind of famous. And no worries, when we found this out, we all FREAKED out. My face is still red and I'm a bit shakey. We're pretty stoked!!!
