(Just so you know, this is actually not a bum. . . it really is the crease in my elbow! What a great trick!) I sent the following text to my loved ones on V-day this year:
"Happy Valentine's Day! I love you with all of my butt!! I would say heart, but my bum is bigger! P.S. that's not really my bum, it's my elbow, haha gotcha!).
I did leave out the picture on some of the texts because I do realize that not everybody appreciates my 7yr old boy sense of humor. Nevertheless, you bet your bottom dollar that I would post it on my blog for the world wide web to see. Sorry if it's offensive to some-my apologies!
I love the idea of Valentine's Day. I love remembering Valentine's Day as a child, it was so fun! I had great Valentine's as a child, like barbershop quartets (I wrote about it last year). But as an adult, it's just another day that I wear pink and eat a little more chocolate than usual. It's not like me to be a hater of the holiday. If you know me, I'm all about holidays. I usually wear something to represent the holiday and I just love to celebrate for any reason. Valentine's day is different. First, it seems like someone dies the days before Valentine's day every single year. So really, February reminds me of funerals. I could go on, but I digress. . .
This Valentine's day I woke up at 6:30am and went to school-so fun, not! Then I came home around 9:30am and did some homework. I then got on facebook and made fun of all of the cheesy status updates from people and their thoughts on Valentine's Day. Why is it that everyone feels the need to share their life with the people of facebook? "My husband is the absolute best because he did this and that for me on V-day". Really? GAG! I'm a cheesy person but I would never write those things on facebook. That's why I have a blog lol ;) I could go on and on about my feelings about facebook and people that bother me but I digress again.
Then I took a nap, then I looked in the mirror and realized I looked like a homeless person so I decided to shower and re-get ready. Then I went to an appointment at 3:00pm and after that, I went back to school for more classes. On my way back to school, I was inches away from rear-ending someone because my mind was preoccupied, then I almost got hit in a intersection and I only said a few bad words. Then I was sitting in class and because I had pounded down a 32oz of red cream soda, I really had to pee. So I went to bathroom and because I was wearing a cardigan with shallow pockets that my phone was in, my phone plopped right in the toilet (no, I wasn't texting on the potty-that's kakas!). So I said a few more bad words and dried out my phone and washed my hands about 10 times and gagged at the thought of germs and how I couldn't wait to get home to disinfect my hands and the phone. Luckily, the phone still works!
Then I went to physiology lab and we dissected pig eyes, not the first time I've spent Valentine's day with a pig- haha! But it was actually quite interesting. I got home at 9:30pm and did more homework, ate chocolate from loved ones (thanks!) and disinfected my phone over, and over again.
It wasn't a bad day, and it wasn't a great day.
Like I said, it was just another day that I wear pink and eat a little more chocolate than usual.
I sure hope that you all had a much more cheerful and eventful Valentine's Day! If you didn't, don't worry it really is just another day to eat some extra candy and say I love you a few more times than usual!
