These are the Days.

You know those weeks where everything is just "off"? Where things are "off" for no reason at all? It's been one of those weeks. I think I have these weeks at least every other week haha. Just been in a funk this past week. But I'm good now. Just wanted to write a quick post about how great my life is. It's pretty darn great. Not saying that it isn't hard, it is, heaven knows that it's hard. But the good times definitely outweigh the bad. Not necessarily in quantity but definitely in quality. I have the coolest people ever in my life. Seriously-all the great, wonderful, amazing people on this planet, I'm convinced, are in my life. It amazes me everyday that even if one person in my life, wasn't in my life, my life would be drastically different. I have no clue what I did to deserve all of these blessings. The world is a scary, scary place and because of that, I am so greatful I have my faith! Without faith, I would definitely be a "goner".
Tonight, after my week of being in a "funk" one of my best friends- one of my soul sistas and I went and got out and just went to dinner and a movie. Just for a girls night. I'm thankful I have friends like that. I spend time with this friend almost every day but today was without her kids, which I adore her kids. But it was nice to have a conversation that didn't involve the phrase "are you poopy?". We had a good time and I'm back to basics. We all have our hard weeks, we just have to learn how to not break, just bend, and then bend back. Point being- I have awesome friends and family, an awesome friend who took time out of her busy life to spend some time with me and help get me out of my funk, I had a really good cream soda today, I'm going to a rodeo tomorrow night, and I get my hair cut on Saturday. Life is soooo good!! These definitely are the days to live life to it's fullest! :)

STRAWBERRY Days 2010!!!

CUP OF DIVINE STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM!
I really, really, really LOVE Strawberry Days. If you don't know, Strawberry Days is Pleasant Grove's City celebration. I have the best home town celebration ever! Christmas and Strawberry days are huge in my family. Love it. This year was a blast. It did make me miss last year when my two friends were in the Miss Pleasant Grove Royalty and I was their bodyguard. That was some good times. I was able to go behind the scenes on everything! We sure had fun. But still, this year was a blast! We celebrated all week long. It started on Monday (June 14th), I went to Lagoon with two of my very, very best friends. We had A LOT of fun. It involved a lot of laughter, screaming, and singing songs from the movie, Sister Act. Wednesday night I went to the rodeo with my mom. The rodeo is possibly one of my very favorite things on the entire planet. I SO WISH that I was a barrel racer, but I'm not. A girl can only dream. My mom and I had fun and had great seats. I enjoyed watching all the kids I knew from the ward do mutton' bustin' (riding a sheep) they all did great, it was fun! Thursday night I went to the rodeo again with a friend, we had fun too. I can never get enough rodeo. Last year I went every single night to the rodeo because my royalty friends were there. I wish I could go ever single night every year! Friday night we went up the canyon and had a fire. We had yummy marshmellows and roasted starbursts! We sure had fun up there. A bunch of girls sitting around a campfire + laughing histerically = chasing away other campers surrounding us, sorry other campers. We had a blast and came home smellin' like camp fire!
Saturday morning was the parade, waahoo! My mom and I headed down to meet up with some other family early in the morning. We sat in our seats to save them and I drank a dr. pepper. It was fun. Then the parade started, yippee! I love the parade! My favorite part is the fire trucks, bag pipes, and floats. We had fun at the parade. After the parade was over we headed over and ate some lunch. Then we shopped at the boutiques that are over by the carnival. In which, I spent too much money but got some cute stuff for really good deals! Then we ate some more strawberries and cream, love that stuff, can't ever get enough. Saturday night (the best night of rodeo) I went with a huge group of friends to the rodeo, once again, I put on my cowboy boots and a plaid shirt and away we went. It was the best night of rodeo of all week. We had great seats because we went down so early and put down blankets, that place gets packed! We sure had fun and ate so much strawberries and cream while checking out all of the cowboys! We had A TON of fun! I can't wait until Strawberry Days comes again next year. Seriously one of my favorite things ever.
Sunday, Father's Day, I was getting ready for church when a family friend (basically family) called and asked if our family wanted to come out with some other family on his beautiful boat. So away we went on the boat. It was way fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love boating. Unfortunately, the water was too choppy because of the wind, we weren't able to water ski. We still had so much fun. After that we ran home, changed our clothes, made a potato salad, and went over to Grandma's with a bunch of family for dinner. That was fun too. All in all, it was an AWESOME week filled with fun. I LOVED it all!!!!!!!!!!!!
(I really slacked on pictures. None of the parade or rodeo itself, only us being dorks, sorry)
Some of our group at the rodeo Saturday night.

We were so excited!

A little too much strawberries and cream for us.

The rodeo was starting, WAAHOO (Katie missed the memo to cheese it)!!

Kick Off To Summer!

This week is possibly the best week of my entire summer or at least close to the best. It's Strawberry Days (Pleasant Grove City celebration that has been around for years) and I'm stoked. This week is definitly full of fun and a great way to officially kick off the summer! In my family, Strawberry Days is huge. It's almost like Christmas. We celebrate big time. Same with the Lehi Pioneer Days which are next week because my grandparents are from Lehi and still live there, it's pretty intense. But back to Strawberry Days-I love it! The strawberries & cream are DIVINE. I also love the rodeo. I would go every night if I could. This year I am going Wednesday night and Saturday night which will be fun! I'm really excited! And the parade on Saturday, I LOVE the parade and shopping at the boutiques afterward! I'm so excited!

Today I went to Lagoon with Caecee and Jodi. Since Jodi is moving soon, we had to get in one last fun day without Jodi's kids (even though they are adorable) and get out of Utah County. We had a lot of fun! The lines were so short, it didn't take all day for us to get through the lines. It was a perfect day to go to Lagoon, sunny but not too hot. We arrived at lagoon at about 1:00pm and only stayed until 5:00pm and rode all of the rides that we wanted too, which were most of them and we got some delicious ice cream in between all the fun. We laughed and we screamed. . . A LOT. My throat is hoarse from screaming so much. Some of those rides are insane but so fun! We went on everything from wicked to rattlesnake rapids. It really was a blast! Then we went to Olive Garden for dinner, yum!!! It was a fun day! It was fun to be with great friends and just take a time out from our busy lives and spend time with each other which is what really matters in life! I'm glad we all went and had such a blast! It was a GREAT kick off to a great week! I hope everyone has a fun week and make sure you stop by P.G.'s Strawberry Days and get yourself some srawberries and cream!!

I'm in deep. . .

I am in deep, deep love. Seriously. I can't stand it when he isn't around, his laugh lights up my entire world, I love it when we cuddle, and he even lets me dress him and play with his hair. Who could ask for more? Take a look and you'll probably fall for him too. . .

Elijah MacDonald

This proves that he's mine, back off ladies (except I guess I'll have to share him with his mom ;)

Blue Scrub Bottoms+Lemonade=Great Afternoon

Today, is one of those days. I went to bed at 6:00am. I know, ridiculous, right? I've been sleeping quite well but last night was terrible! I don't know what my deal was, couldn't turn off my mind. I had to be up and ready by 10:00am to take care of some business. 10:00am is early when you go to bed when the birds are tweeting. Anyway, I took care of my business then laid back down and caught just a few more hours of shut eye. I woke up, for good this time and decided that I severely needed a pepsi. And boy did I. I was getting a headache and I think that I should have just stayed awake in the first place. No matter how tired you are, it's usually worse when you are awake and then go back to sleep for an hour.
I was bright eyed and bushy tailed. More like, droopy eyed and bushy haired, for sure. So with my orange t-shirt, bright blue scrub pants, my black crocs, and my hooker hair (that's what I call my hair when its wild after I sleep on it, curls everywhere, total fro but no, just to clarify-I am not a hooker), I got in the car. At least I did have some product in my hair and I did have make-up on, thank heavens. I was in the car and feeling good and I drove to the down town drive up gas station (there was no way I was getting out of the car in my blue scrub pants, nothing wrong with scrubs, it was just the orange shirt/hooker hair/scrub pants combination) and got my cherry pepsi. With a few sips I was feeling oh so much better.
As I was driving home I passed a bunch of lemonade stands lined with kids. But there was one in particular. . . this girl in front of her house all by herself with a cute little lemonade stand. She would hold up her sign with each cars passing and then as the car would zoom by she was discouragingly put her sign back down. I felt bad. I should have stopped. I remember when I was a kid I made a cookie stand and no one stopped except my neighbors but then I would insist that they have the cookie for free just because they stopped and I was so excited. Turns out I'm a terrible salesman. Anywho-I wanted to stop and buy lemonade from the discouraged looking little girl. But remember my bright blue scrub pants? They're so comfy but not pleasing to the eye especially adding my orange shirt and hooker hair into the mix. It was a busy road too, I couldn't risk my reputation (since I have one lol). This was quite the predicament. I think the problem was my lack of sleep. Normally, I wouldn't care that much about what I looked like just to buy some lemonade. Although, I didn't want to frighten the lemonade-selling girl, and I probably would have if I would've stopped with the scrub pants/orange shirt/hooker hair combo. It was quite the fashion statement.
So I drove back home, put some jeans on, tamed the hair just a little, and got right back in the car. Drove to the little girl's lemonade stand and stopped. Yes, I'm a sap. She was thrilled, it was cute. She politely asked me "would you like one cup?" I said "yes, please" she then replied "that will be 25cents please" I gave her a dollar and told her to keep the change. She was so excited. It was so cute. Then me, my pepsi, and my lemonade came back home, put back on the bright blue comfy scrub bottoms (don't judge), and enjoyed the afternoon!
After I purchased my lemonade, I was thinking that instead of these hard times job hunting, I'll just make a lemonade stand. Seriously. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade- literally. I'm telling you-kids have it all figured out, we should be more like them. Can't you picture me with my orange t-shirt, hooker hair, and bright blue scrub pants on the side of the street batting my eyelashes? Actually, stop, save yourself, don't picture it. People would just have to stop because I am just so darn cute. I could make a fortune. TOTALLY JUST KIDDING. It is something to consider though. . . haha ;)
