Pie+Caramel+Hand Sanitizer=POLICE!?!

If you know me, you know that I have had many incidences with the cops. I am not usually doing anything wrong. I've technically only been "pulled over" a few times. My friends and I are usually parked in a parking lot talking and we get the whole police force on us. I understand why, most teenagers who are parked in cars are having sex, doing drugs, drinking, etc. But we don't do those things. Enough is enough, I think all of the officers on the pg police force know me by name. I feel like a serious criminal. They should be out getting those teenagers that are having sex, doing drugs, drinking, etc. But no, they find us and try to get us in trouble for nothing. I do appreciate cops, they keep our city safe. I just feel that it is a little much when my friends and I can't hardly go anywhere or do anything without getting the cops involved when we AREN'T breaking the law. We are good kids and don't mean to be so suspicious. The most recent story is this. . . it was a Saturday night and Katie, Caecee, and I were bored. It was quite late so we couldn't really be at any one's house causing havoc so we made asphalt pie and then got in the car and drove around for awhile. We then parked at a church parking lot. We were talking, listening to music and eating our asphalt pie. Next thing I know there is a cop behind us. Katie then starts to panic (I'm telling you, we're never doing anything to break the law but they freak us out so much that we act like we have something to hide, not on purpose.) So, Katie starts to panic and hides the bottle of CARAMEL from the asphalt pie under the seat. Like we had something to hide? This really helped the fact of suspicsion. If I was a cop I would've questioned us haha. It was just Katie's natural reaction, I'm telling you, these cops really do freak us out. I calmly (I'm so used to this, I'm pro) roll down my window and hand the officer my license (while getting out my license, I purposely flash my temple recommend at him.) He runs my license, finds nothing. He then questions us. I explain to him that we are just parked talking. This particular cop was actually very cool. Most of the pg cops are so bored that they call in half the police force for one car that is harmless. This policeman didn't call in help. He was talking with us and joking around and then he immediately stopped laughing and said "who's been drinking, I smell alcohol". WHAT? This cop just went from being cool to being not so cool. We aren't even old enough to buy alcohol, let alone, we don't believe in drinking. None of us drink....dr. pepper is about as far as we go. I then became very annoyed because I could tell the cop was digging for trouble when there wasn't any. Yes, my friends and I are very goofy and I'm sure we seem like we're drunk half the time. But we aren't, never have been, never will be. The cop kept pressuring me so much that I kept getting more and more nervous. Then, it sounded like I was lying when I wasn't. I became extremely talkative and my voice went up about 2 octaves. I couldn't help it, I was telling the truth but he was making me nervous and trying to create problems when there weren't any. Thank heavens for my genius mind that remembered right before the cop had pulled up behind us, I had put on hand sanitizer. While the cop was looking around the car for alcohol with his flashlight I then remembered the hand sanitizer thing. I told him that I had just put on hand sanitizer and showed it to him, he smelled my hands, etc. He then said "yep, that's it, hand sanitizer gets us every time, sorry I can tell that you haven't been drinking, it's the alcohol in the hand sanitizer that I can smell." We all then laughed and the cop became cool again and told us we could stay where we were, do whatever, just do get into trouble. He was a pretty cool cop. He left, and we continued to eat our asphalt pie. I'm just thankful that my mind connected and remembered that I had put on hand sanitizer or minutes later I would've been out of the car walking the line and half of my ward would've seen me doing this because I was at my local church parking lot...can you imagine the gossip that would've been going around the ward?? I know I act drunk and crazy, but for the record, I don't drink and never will. I'm just naturally weird, I don't need alcohol to act crazy, it just comes natural!! There are more funny details t this story but I think you just had to be there...if I wrote all of the details, it wouldn't come close to capturing the significance of those details. Some of those details, are a bit confidential as well, it was just a funny night and you had to be there to know everything that happened. I apologize for my writing, it is hard to write about a experience like this, I just can't put it into words. Lets just say, that we have nothing to hide, yet out of fear of cops, we think we need to hide everything. It is hard to explain, but oh so funny. We have had many funny experiences with police but I have to say, this most recent story is probably my favorite out of them all. Maybe you don't find this story funny, but it was, you had to be there!!!
MORAL OF THE STORY. . .
beware of using hand sanitizer while driving. Cops will think that it is alcohol and you could find yourself in a lot of trouble when all you really wanted to do was have germ-free hands. Yes, it almost is a crime to sanitize your hands. Funny night. The trouble that my friends and I get ourselves into is hilarious.... :)This picture was taken right after we had our little run in with the police.

Holiday Celebrations

Here are some pictures that were taken over Christmas break and after the break. These pictures cover basically from the middle of December to the middle of January. When Christmas break ended, it sure didn't end in our minds! We just kept on partying. But now we are finally starting to get back in the groove of school and things...unfortunately lol. We did so many fun things. There are more pictures but I just uploaded some of them. We did laser tag, bowling, gingerbread house making, seeing Christmas lights, movies, sledding, partying every night, eating of course, etc. We had a blast. What a great Christmas break. I'm sad that it is over but now we get to look forward to spring and summer break! We sure made a lot of great memories over the break though! If I were to write about all of the fun things we did over the break, it would be an extremely long post. We just did so many great things. It was sure a lot of laughs! We had great fun!

Katie's frosting face. If you know my friends and I, anything that involves frosting, we really shouldn't be around. Things just get out of hand haha!

We were pretty proud of our gingerbread house creating skills.

Our way cool gingerbread house.

Christmas 2009!!!

Our Christmas Tree this year...the picture doesn't do it justice, it looks very pretty in person!

I didn't take many pictures during Christmas...which is a shocker because I am usually pretty camera happy. I didn't even get a picture of our house all lit up. We has Christmas lights on the house, in the windows, and on the bushes, it was great!! I am proud to say that I made every single one of my Christmas gifts this year. For our holiday Relief Society Enrichment we were asked to "CREATE". If you haven't seen the video clip by Dieter F. Uchtdorf (second counselor in the LDS General Presidency) then I strongly encourage you to go onto youtube and type in "dieter f uchtdorf, create". It is just a few minutes long video clip that will change you for life! Along with creating I saved money and I felt like the gifts turned out to be more thoughtful and creative rather than if I would've bought things. Christmas was so much more special to me that I was able to make all of the gifts that I gave away. They were all different from each other too, at first I thought it would be really difficult to come up with so many ideas so that each gift was completely different from the others. Once I came up with ideas it went great! It took some hard work though. Such as sewing, computer work, painting, etc. It was much more time consuming to make all of the gifts...I spent at least on hour on each gift, but it was so worth it! I was so excited to give the gifts away because I had put so much love into each and every one of them! I feel like all my friends and family really liked them....at least I hope so! I recieved many great gifts this year. I got some new clothes, jewelry, plus some extremely cute gifts from my friends such as a super cute mini bulliten board thing, cute framed picture, etc. Loved them all! All in all, Christmas was great and I think that this year it hit me a little deeper of what Christmas is really about!! It is about Christ, our Savior and His birth. Christmas really is all about love!!! Love for friends, family, and all those around! Here are just a few pictures!
Two pictures that I turned into one for a cute little Christmas card of the family!

Countdown to Christmas!

I love Christmas! It kind of freaks me out how fast it comes, we talk about it all year and then all of the sudden it's here! This month has been crazy with school. I have officially decided that I have a deep hate (I rarely use the "hate" word) finals. Since I am going into nursing for school, to get into the program you have to have a certain gpa and test scores. This creates unmeasureable stress! I have to get A's in some classes and others I cannot get below a B-. This makes final tests double YUCK!!! Ok-done talking about school, it makes me nausious. Anyway, I will be so happy when tomorrow comes so I can start my Christmas vacation which I have been looking forward to like none other! As I have been awaiting Christmas vacation my friend and I have done some fun things. A few weeks ago, my Grandma and I went to the Gingerbread House Festival at Thanksgiving Point. It was crazy!!! I cannot believe the talent some people have in the baking area. The gingerbread houses were huge! I mean, they were massive! They had so much detail in the frosting. They were really creative and I am still in awe over how cool they were! It was really fun, thanks for taking me Grandma! One weekend some of my friends and I made brownies (which is quite the experience for us), took some fun Christmas pictures, which I then photoshopped and added some holly, xmas lights, santa hats, snow, etc. I love taking pictures, it was quite the challenge since no one could take the picture because we were all in the picture, we had to use the self-timer on the camera so it took us a few trys, be it was funny! Another night we drove around and saw some fun Christmas lights! It was really fun! I am sure the fun will continue and magnify over Christmas break. YAY!!! Time for some serious sledding!!

Katie, Amber (me), Caecee, and Holly taking fun pictures!
